Originally coined “Hoolagins” in 1997, Hoop Revolution was founded in 2000 by Anah Reichenbach aka Hoopalicious. Since then Hoop Revolution and Anah has taken part in the creation of the global movement that is HoopDance. In 1997 it was all about selling hoops to Music Festivals and when it came to the hoops, the bigger the better! As Anah gained skill, the focus shifted to teaching, performance and the creation of HoopDance as a legitamate artform. 12 years later the hoops are smaller and lighter, HoopDance has subgenre’s and 397,000 hits on google.  America’s Got Talent, numerous travels around the world, many commercials and live performances under her belt, Anah is compelled to dig deep and get to the root of her mission in life. Her desire is to speak to the deeper undercurrents of life experience and be a resource for joy and inspiration to people everywhere. HoopRevolution wishes to transform current business models as it  continues to evolve as the leader it is in the hoop community. 2009 will see many new offerings and experimentations. Starting with:

This is not a new idea. Many cultures swap services for most of their needs. In the current economic situation why limit ourselves to the use of cash as the only way to not only fulfill our needs and wants but as a measure of our success?  I propose that we use this as a challenge to see how much of our daily wants and needs we can fulfill from simple human exchange. I am opening Hoop Revolution up to satisfy the needs of the hooping community with out the messy transaction of cash. Sure I will still need some cash to pay bills and such, but if you can’t afford it, I still want you to have hooping and as much pleasure as possible! Hoop Revolution has many needs that I know you can fulfill! Check below for a list of wants and needs as well as a list of services and items I have for barter. In addition I am looking for opportunities both as a business and as an individual to gift freely and regularly with no trade whatsoever. The concept of gifting goes one step beyond barter. If we all give for the pleasure of giving, everyone gets gifted at one time or another and it always comes back, even if not from the original source.  

Together we can remain empowered and continue to fill our lives with the joy we so richly deserve regardless of how much money we have in the bank!! And the funny thing is, if you know the law of attraction, the more rich and joyous we feel, the more money will come flowing back into our lives, even if we no longer need it. AH, the delicious paradox that is life!

Guidelines for Bartering:

As fluid and loose as bartering can be, I think it is a good idea to have some basic structure to start with.

Service Barters:

In general I think it is best to trade time for time when it comes to services. All of our time is equally valuable! In some occasions where there is significant cost involved(ie, products needed to do a facial, studio rental fee, etc) than a swapping of time for time plus cost is appropriate.

Product Barters:

Products can be traded cost for cost or retail for retail, friendly negotiation can easily work out the details!
